Fastex Logistics hires Class A CDL drivers at our terminal at 9640 Sidney Hayes Rd, in the industrial corridor south of Orlando International Airport. From Winter Garden the whole run is limited access. You pick up SR 429 off Plant Street or Colonial, drop onto Florida’s Turnpike and stay on it southeast to the Landstreet Road exit. That is about 25 miles and a little over half an hour when the toll roads are behaving, and it never puts you on I-4. Drivers already on our roster commute in from Ocoee, Oakland, Windermere, Gotha, Horizon West and across the county line from Clermont.

These are company driver positions. No lease, no deposit, no escrow, and no equipment cost comes out of your settlement. Weekly pay runs $3,000 to $5,000 depending on trailer type and lane assignment, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus applies.

Secure parking for personal vehicles is included at the terminal. Your car sits inside our fence for the length of your run, which is the entire point of the drive down. You make it when you leave and when you come home, not twice a day.

West Orange County has no shortage of experienced Class A drivers and almost nowhere local to put them. Most Winter Garden drivers end up reporting to a leased lot in Apopka or Taft, or driving out to Lakeland or Ocala for a yard that belongs to somebody else’s landlord. Ours belongs to us. You notice the difference the first time you need a repair scheduled, a settlement corrected or a load changed at two in the morning.

We run five trailer types out of this terminal: flatbed, stepdeck, lowboy, conestoga and reefer. We also move commercial bee colonies, which is its own operation with its own rules. Assignments follow verified experience, so drivers who want heavy haul start on open deck and move up once they have built a record with us. If you have watched Horizon West and the Avalon Road corridor fill in over the past decade, you have already seen most of this freight go by. Come walk the yard before you decide anything.

Where you go after that is up to you. Drivers who start on flatbed and show they can secure a load properly move onto stepdeck, then lowboy, and the pay moves with them. Tell the recruiter what you have hauled and what you want to be hauling two years from now, and you will get a straight answer about how long that takes here.

    Equipment You Can
    Be Proud to Drive

A driver should not have to fight the truck. Our fleet runs late-model Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth and Western Star, and we spend real money on the trailers behind them. Six configurations leave this terminal, and we match you to the one your experience actually fits rather than whatever happens to be sitting empty that morning.

Flatbed trailer loaded with steel at the Fastex Logistics terminal near Winter Garden, FL

    Flatbed

An open deck with no walls and no roof, and the backbone of what leaves this yard. Loads are structural steel, lumber, pipe, drywall, roofing and palletized building products, a large share of it feeding the construction that has not slowed in west Orange County since Horizon West started filling in. Nothing encloses the freight, so securement belongs to you, and FMCSA writes the standard in 49 CFR Part 393. The commodity decides the method: straps, chains, binders, edge protection, tarps. Against a dry van the trade is straightforward. You use your hands more and your clock less, because flatbed pickups and drops happen in yards and on job sites instead of behind an appointment receiving door. This is where our open deck side begins. Every habit you build strapping and tarping here follows you onto stepdeck and lowboy, and so does the pay.

Stepdeck trailer on a Fastex Logistics open deck lane out of Central Florida

    Stepdeck

A drop deck, if that is what your last carrier called it. Upper deck over the tractor, lower main deck behind it, and that lower deck sits near 42 inches where a flatbed sits at 60. The 18 inches you gain let a load close to 10 feet ride inside the 13 foot 6 inch legal limit with no oversize permit and no route survey. Typical freight is compact excavators, skid steers, tractors, scissor lifts, tanks and crated machinery. Central Florida turns out construction and agricultural equipment all year, and plenty of it stands too tall for a flatbed. Securement rules are the same ones you learned on flatbed. What changes is ramp work and paying closer attention to where weight lands across the deck. Several of our stepdecks carry integrated ramps for drive-on freight.

Lowboy trailer hauling heavy construction equipment for Fastex Logistics

    Lowboy

Lowboy exists for the iron that will not clear a height limit on anything else. The well rides 18 to 24 inches off the pavement, which handles machine heights around 11 to 12 feet, and most of our units run a removable gooseneck so equipment drives or winches on from the front. Loads are excavators, dozers, graders, cranes and similar tracked or wheeled machinery. A fair share of it exceeds legal weight or dimension and moves on state permits, and some Florida routes add escorts or restrict the hours you can run. The seat asks for working knowledge of axle weight distribution, permit conditions and where a machine belongs on the deck. This is the best paid assignment in our Central Florida operation, and we fill it internally, from drivers with verified flatbed or stepdeck time.

Conestoga trailer with a rolling tarp system in the Fastex Logistics fleet

    Conestoga

A flatbed or stepdeck under a retractable tarp on a rolling frame. The canopy slides back along the trailer to open the deck for side or overhead loading, then closes over the freight. What it really replaces is manual tarping, and that is worth more than the spec sheet suggests. Tarping a conventional flatbed costs you 30 to 45 minutes and accounts for a large share of flatbed injuries, most of them falls off the deck. A conestoga opens and closes in a few minutes with your boots on the ground. Freight tends to be product that needs weather protection but still has to load from the side or the top: machinery, coiled steel, packaged building materials, finished goods. Your securement obligations do not change. The canopy protects the load, it does not restrain it. You keep open deck versatility and you keep your afternoon.

Refrigerated reefer trailer used for temperature controlled freight out of Orlando

    Reefer

Temperature controlled freight in a refrigerated trailer. Out of Central Florida that means produce, frozen and refrigerated food, beverages and pharmaceutical product moving through Florida distribution centers and running north on I-75 and I-95. Easier on your back than open deck and harder on your attention. You check the set point against the bill of lading, confirm the box is pre-cooled before anything goes in, watch the unit in transit and keep your temperature records clean. Food loads fall under the FDA Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food rule, and a documented temperature excursion is one of the fastest ways to get a load rejected and a claim opened. Refrigerated receivers work fixed appointment windows, so the schedule is tighter and detention shows up more often than it does on the open deck side. The volume holds steady in every season.

Trailer loaded with commercial beehives for pollination transport across the Southeast

    Bee Hauling

Live commercial honeybee colonies moved for agricultural pollination, mostly migrating hives across the Southeast out of Florida. We have run these loads for more than eight years, and the job is graded on one question: did the colonies arrive healthy. Securement combines standard strapping with heavy duty netting so the stacked hives hold together. Airflow is part of how you drive the load, which means keeping the truck rolling through the heat of the day so the colonies do not overheat. The clock belongs to the bees rather than a warehouse, so you load and unload at night or at first light while the hives are dormant. Unusual hours, and a high bar for reliability. What you get back is farm to farm delivery and almost no dock detention.

    Our strong points

Our own yard. Our own people.
    Nothing outsourced.

Most carriers in this market lease their yard and send the trucks to somebody else’s shop. We own both, and it shows up in your week.

    FAQs

Questions Winter Garden Drivers Ask Us

Is the terminal in Winter Garden?

No. Our yard is at 9640 Sidney Hayes Rd, south of Orlando International Airport. From Winter Garden you take SR 429 down to Florida’s Turnpike and stay on it southeast to the Landstreet Road exit, roughly 25 miles and a little over half an hour off peak, with no I-4 involved. We hire a lot of west Orange County drivers because you park at the yard when you go out, so that drive happens at the start and end of a run instead of every morning.

How do I apply for a CDL driver job in Winter Garden, FL?

Fill out the form above and a recruiter will call you. It takes about two minutes and there is nothing to upload. If you would rather talk first, put your number in and say so in the referral field.

Do you hire drivers with less than two years of experience?

Our standard requirement is two years of Class A experience. The application asks whether you are over or under, so put down your real number. Under two years is not an automatic no. It means a longer conversation with the recruiter about where you have run and what you have hauled.

Is this an owner-operator or a lease program?

Neither. You drive our equipment. There is no deposit, no lease payment and no escrow.

Which towns do your Winter Garden area drivers commute from?

Winter Garden, Ocoee, Oakland, Windermere, Gotha, Horizon West and Apopka, plus a handful from Clermont and Minneola across the Lake County line. Anywhere with a clean run to SR 429 or the Turnpike works.

Do I need flatbed experience to get hired?

No. Class A time on a dry van or reefer is enough to start the conversation. If you want to move onto the open deck side, flatbed is the entry point. Stepdeck and lowboy come later, once you have shown you can secure a load properly.

Is this OTR only, or can I get home?

Both run out of this terminal. We haul OTR and regional freight across all 48 states, and home time gets arranged with your dispatcher rather than dictated by a fixed board. Tell the recruiter what your schedule has to look like and you will get an honest answer about whether we can build it.

How is the $3,000 sign-on bonus paid?

Ask the recruiter on your call. Bonus terms depend on trailer type and start date, and they will walk you through the payout schedule before you commit to anything.

    What endorsements do you want?

Class A is the requirement. Anything beyond that widens what we can put you on, so bring it up on your call.

Can I park my car at the terminal?

Yes, and it costs you nothing. Secure parking inside our fence for as long as you are out. Nobody should be leaving a vehicle on a Winter Garden side street for two weeks.
