Fastex Logistics hires Class A CDL drivers at our terminal at 9640 Sidney Hayes Rd, in the industrial corridor south of Orlando International Airport. From most of Kissimmee the drive is roughly twenty minutes up the 417 or John Young Parkway. Drivers currently on our roster commute from St. Cloud, Poinciana, Buenaventura Lakes and Celebration.

These are company driver positions. There is no lease, no deposit and no escrow, and no equipment cost is deducted from your settlement. Weekly pay ranges from $3,000 to $5,000 depending on trailer type and lane assignment, and a $3,000 sign-on bonus applies.

Secure parking for personal vehicles is included at the terminal. Your car stays on site for the duration of your run.

Osceola County has a deep pool of experienced drivers and few carriers based within a reasonable commute. Most drivers in this market either run out to Lakeland or report to a shared yard in Orlando. Our terminal is close enough that home time is spent at home rather than in traffic.

We operate five trailer types: flatbed, stepdeck, lowboy, conestoga and reefer. Assignments are matched to verified experience. Drivers pursuing heavy haul begin on open deck and move into it after establishing a record with us.     Flatbed trailer

    Flatbed

    Open deck freight with no walls and no roof. Out of our Central Florida terminal you will run structural steel, lumber, pipe, drywall, roofing material and palletized building products to job sites across Osceola County and the Southeast. Because the load is exposed, securement is your responsibility under FMCSA standards in 49 CFR Part 393, and the commodity dictates the method: straps, chains, binders, edge protection and tarps. The trade against dry van is straightforward. You do more physical work and spend considerably less time waiting at a dock, since most pickups and deliveries happen in yards and on job sites rather than at appointment receiving doors. Flatbed is where our open deck operation starts, and the securement skills transfer directly into stepdeck and lowboy.

    Stepdeck

    Also called a drop deck. An open trailer with an upper deck over the tractor and a lower main deck behind it. The lower deck sits at roughly 42 inches against 60 on a standard flatbed, which gives you about 18 additional inches of cargo height and allows a load near 10 feet to travel inside the 13 foot 6 inch legal limit without an oversize permit. Expect compact excavators, skid steers, tractors, scissor lifts, crated machinery and tanks. Central Florida produces steady construction and agricultural equipment volume, much of it too tall for a flatbed. Securement standards match flatbed, with added attention to ramp loading and how weight distributes across the deck. Some of our stepdecks carry integrated ramps for drive-on freight.

    Lowboy

    Lowboy carries machinery that cannot clear height limits on any other open deck. The well sits 18 to 24 inches off the road surface, which accommodates machine heights of roughly 11 to 12 feet, and most units use a removable gooseneck so equipment can be driven or winched on from the front. Loads are excavators, dozers, graders, cranes and similar tracked or wheeled machinery. Many exceed legal weight or dimension limits and move under state permits, and some Florida routes add escort or time of day restrictions. The seat calls for working knowledge of axle weight distribution, permit conditions and machine positioning on the deck. It is the highest paid assignment in our Central Florida operation, and we fill it from drivers with verified flatbed or stepdeck experience.

    Conestoga trailer

    Conestoga

    A flatbed or stepdeck fitted with a retractable tarp system on a rolling frame. The canopy slides back along the trailer to expose the deck for side or overhead loading, then closes over the load. It replaces manual tarping, which matters more than it sounds. A conventional tarp job runs 30 to 45 minutes and accounts for a substantial share of flatbed injuries, most of them falls from the deck. A conestoga opens and closes in a few minutes from ground level. Freight is generally product that needs weather protection but still requires open deck access, including machinery, coiled steel, packaged building materials and finished goods. Securement requirements do not change. The canopy protects the load, it does not restrain it. You get the versatility of open deck freight without spending the day on top of a trailer.

    Reefer

    Temperature controlled freight in refrigerated trailers. Out of our Central Florida terminal that is primarily produce, frozen and refrigerated food, beverages and pharmaceutical product moving through Florida distribution centers and north on I-75 and I-95. The work is less physical than open deck and asks for continuous attention instead. You verify the set point against the bill of lading, confirm the trailer is pre-cooled before loading, monitor unit operation in transit and maintain temperature records. Food loads fall under the FDA Sanitary Transportation of Human and Animal Food rule, and a documented temperature excursion is a common basis for load rejection and claims. Refrigerated receivers work fixed appointment windows, so scheduling is tighter and detention is more frequent than on open deck. Volume holds steady year round.

    Bee Hauling

    Live commercial honeybee colonies moved for agricultural pollination, generally migrating hives across the Southeast out of Florida. We have more than eight years moving these loads, and the measure of the job is whether the colonies arrive healthy. Securement pairs standard strapping with heavy duty netting to hold the stacked hives intact. Airflow management is part of driving the load, so you keep the truck moving during daylight hours to prevent the colonies from overheating. Schedules follow the bees rather than warehouse appointments, which means loading and unloading happen at night or at dawn while the hives are dormant. The hours are unconventional and the reliability requirement is high, but deliveries run farm to farm and dock detention effectively disappears.

    Is the terminal in Kissimmee?

    No. Our yard is at 9640 Sidney Hayes Rd, south of Orlando International Airport, roughly twenty minutes up the 417 from central Kissimmee depending on where you start. We hire a lot of drivers out of Osceola County because that commute beats what most carriers in this market ask for. Park at the yard and your car stays there while you are out.

    Do you hire drivers with less than two years of experience?

    Our standard requirement is two years of Class A experience. The application asks whether you are over or under two years, so put your real number in. Under two years is not an automatic no, but it will be a longer conversation with the recruiter about where you have run and what you have hauled.

    Is this an owner-operator or a lease program?

    Neither. You drive our equipment. There is no deposit, no lease payment and no escrow.

    How is the $3,000 sign-on bonus paid?

    Ask the recruiter on your call. Bonus terms depend on the trailer type and start date, and they will walk you through the schedule before you commit to anything.

    Do I need flatbed experience to get hired?

    No. If you have Class A time on a dry van or reefer we will talk to you. If you want to move onto the open deck side, flatbed is where you start, and stepdeck and lowboy come later once you have shown you can secure a load properly.

    What endorsements do you want?

    Class A is the requirement. Additional endorsements widen what we can put you on and are worth mentioning on your call.

    Can I park my car at the terminal?

    Yes, and it is included. Secure parking at our terminal, a short drive north of Kissimmee. You are not leaving your car on the street while you are out.
